Dr. Shatha Nizar Samman is a distinguished expert and is the first female Saudi Human Factors Engineer and author of the first book written for the GCC region about human factors & ergonomics. Dr. Samman is the founder of Global Assessment, a Human Factors research, design, training, and assessment firm.

Dr. Samman has more than 20 years of leadership experience as a Human Factors Engineer and Research Scientist investigating a broad range of human performance issues in normal & complex operational environments to improve safety, quality & efficiency. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Aviation & Transportation Studies at Lewis University, USA.

Dr. Samman worked on numerous projects funded by government and industry organizations, including: Saudi National Council of Occupational Safety & Health, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology, Saudi Aramco, Laureate Education Inc., Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education, NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, British Petroleum, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), US Naval Air Systems Command, US Office of Naval Research, US Office of the Secretary of Defense, US Army Research Institute, US Army Research Laboratory.

She established the HFES GCC Chapter and has authored publications internationally promoting human factors.

Dr. Mohammed Asad is an emergency physician and academic specializing in patient safety and healthcare innovation. His recent work examines safe AI use in clinical settings, including generative AI misinformation risks and AI-supported shared decision-making.

He has published in the Journal of Patient Safety (2025), JMIR AI (2025), BMJ Open Quality (2025), and Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings (2025). Additional work includes AI in respiratory care and methodological pieces on safety detection frameworks.

His focus is translating AI into safer, evidence-based practice with measurable benefit. Credentials include MRCEM, MRCS, MSc Healthcare, MBA, CPHQ, CPPS, LSSBB, and Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme.

Dr. Zuber M. Shaikh, DLitt., PhD, FISQua, is a distinguished healthcare quality and patient safety leader with over 19 years of international experience. He currently serves as Director of Corporate Quality Improvement at Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group, where he has led the accreditation of 99 healthcare facilities and the commissioning of 8 hospitals.

Widely recognized for his expertise in accreditation, risk management, and person-centered care, he has authored five textbooks, published 29 peer-reviewed papers, and presented 24 research works at global conferences.

His numerous awards include the Planetree Scholar Award (USA) and the Global Award for Excellence in Quality Management and Leadership.

Azad Godus, M.S.Ed., LDF-CC, CPHHA, MT, is Head of Continuous Medical Education at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Jeddah. With over 20 years in healthcare learning and molecular diagnostics, he is recognized for advancing Interprofessional Education (IPE) to improve patient safety and care quality.

He introduced the Friday Night at the ER simulation to enhance teamwork and communication, earning the 2022 National Patient Safety Award from the Saudi Patient Safety Center.

Azad has presented his OPTIMAL IPE framework internationally, promoting collaborative practice across healthcare disciplines.
